Tumblr.com has been around since 2007, and while it never got as big as MySpace, it didn't suddenly disappear like the former social media giant. They've always occupied their own weird space, and at least half the time you're probably thinking, "Who the hell uses Tumblr."

It's certainly an ambiguous phenomenon. Right now, content like awkward anime memes, nature photos, inspirational quotes for soccer moms and angry mini-replies against social justice are trending on the site's front page. None of them involve porn, sex or beautiful naked women. I had to scroll for a few minutes before I saw a model in lingerie with lots of fashion-related hashtags.

Like on Reddit, sex is not immediately apparent, but with so many users, it's probably one of the most deeply rooted. As soon as you type in the word "sex," the flavor of the site changes completely. I love the selection of relevant hashtags that come up when you search - Love, Couple, Hot, Daddy, Relationships.

The people on Tumblr.com seem more perverted than one would assume by the crap they advertise on the front page. When you think about sex, it's okay to think about love, couples and relationships, and the popularity of #daddy says a lot about the users here.

But what's immediately striking is that Tumblr doesn't really post NSFW content: even in the sex section, you won't find sliding wombs, penetrating anuses, dick-filled mouths, or even horrible nipples. There are a few skin-tight, semi-nude couples cuddling with each other, but the most poignant images are of beautiful butts. Panties seem necessary, but thankfully they don't have to hide much.

What's going on with this site.

I could have sworn I was rubbing off on Tumblr.com a bit at one time, but the bong I had with the Viagra for breakfast made me doubt myself. Tumblr.com was once a paradise for pornographic videos, photos and amateur lesbian experiments. However, to attract a broader user base and more advertising dollars, they cleaned it up. They're almost equally SFW, but at least they'll keep your penis hard until you can get some privacy and enjoy some real sex.
